Hello and happy happy Friday!
I haven’t done one of these “Friday Favorites” posts in awhile so figured it was time.
As usual most of the things I’m currently obsessing over are food and running related but hey that’s kind of my life right now.
I apologize in advance for the picture quality in this post. I was just snapping pictures of everything as I was using/ eating it this week.
Anyway, let’s get right into 6 things I’ve been LOVING lately!
1. Flavored Justin’s Almond Butter
HOLY SH*T! I thought plain almond butter was delicious but this takes it to a whole new level.
I recently tried both the honey and vanilla flavors and wow…just wow.
The vanilla almond butter seriously tasted like birthday cake. I don’t know how you do it Justin’s but I may or may not have eaten an entire half a jar of this stuff alone in my office with a spoon.
I highly recommend adding this to overnight oats, putting it on an apple or banana, your morning toast, a sweet potato…really anything and everything…it’s heavenly.
2. Siggi’s Flavored Yogurt
People have been telling me for months that I needed to try Siggi’s yogurt. I’ve hesitated because I usually associate flavored yogurts with fake ingredients and tons of sugar but Siggi’s is VERY different. Their yogurt is all natural, non-GMO, uses real fruit and has less sugar (9g) than protein (13g) and a single serve cup is only 150 calories…YES PLEASE!
I’m currently obsessed with the coconut flavor and the peach.
3. Carob Chip Perfect Bars
You guys, I avoided this flavor for years because I had no idea what a carob chip was and didn’t want to waste $3 on a bar that could potentially taste terrible. Well I finally tried it and it’s incredible.
I did a little research and I guess carob chips are commonly referred to as “the other chocolate chip”…who knew? But this flavor of Perfect Bar is every chocolate and peanut butter lovers dream.
Now if I’m being 100% honest when I first tried this bar I wasn’t sold on it. Carob chips are definitely not the same as chocolate chips and it was just a flavor I’d never had in my life but after a couple of bites I fell in love.
4. Lenny & Larry’s Complete Cookie
These cookies seriously complete my life. Right now with my marathon training I try to consume 2,500-3,000 calories a day but with working full time, blogging and training it’s hard to bring a ton of snacks to have on me at all times.
One of these cookies is about 400 calories and is packed with protein so they’ve been my go-to afternoon treat to keep me alive.
The Complete Cookie comes in tons of different flavors but the White Chocolate Macadamia Nut, Birthday Cake and Lemon Poppyseed one are my favorites.
Oh and in case you missed my post on “Guilt Free Protein Ice Cream Sandwiches” using these cookies- click here!
5. The Runner’s Multivitamin
Discovering these was an absolute lifesaver. I didn’t realize just how much stress training for a marathon would put on my body. I’ve talked about this on the blog but I was getting sick ever couple weeks a few months back and just didn’t understand why. I was eating healthy, drinking water, exercising and sleeping so what gives?
Well, marathon training creates some pretty intense demands on your body and these vitamins are specifically designed to give runners all the proper vitamins and minerals they need to stay healthy, recover quickly and perform to the best of their abilities.
I haven’t been sick since I started taking them and maybe it’s a total placebo effect but I’ve felt much stronger during my runs.
I’m going to do a full post on these later on but for more information visit their website here.
6. Overnight Oat Canisters
I have an addiction to overnight oats. I seriously eat them every single morning so I have a ton of oats, chia seeds and trail mix around my house that I get from the bulk section at Sprouts. Instead of keeping everything in plastic bags or Tupperware I bought these amazing acrylic canisters off Amazon for less than $20.
The entire set comes with 5 different sized canisters and look so nice either tucked away in your cupboards or out on the counter top.
I use the other 2 canisters for coffee beans and sugar and am about to buy a second set for all my other baking goods.
