Got a little throwback action going on today of my dad and I circa 1990..chubby cheeks and everything haha!
What’s really not fair is that my dad looks EXACTLY the same in 2016…really? What are you secrets dad? I may just have to feature my dad on the blog to talk about his daily energy drinks that contain every vitamin on the planet or how he stays motivated to workout every day.
With that, let’s introduce my dad Mark aka King Leonidas from 300 (he wishes) He’s a big weight lifter, loves craft beer and is always seeking some kind of adventure whether it be in Southern Utah or just in the backyard.
When I thought of these gifts to put in my Father’s Day gift Gift Guide I really focused on things/ experiences my dad would love. Some of the gifts on this list are things I’ve already bought for my dad and boyfriend and they are obsessed with and some I think are just pretty darn good ideas!
So with that let’s get to my list of 10 gifts your dad will LOVE and actually enjoy.
1. Cuisinart Stainless-Steel Grill Set
Summer is all about getting outside and grilling! So if dad is using tools that are so old they have rust on them or is still flipping steaks with a fork it may be time for some new barbecue tools. This doesn’t have to be a super expensive gift either. Amazon has the best grill kit by Cuisinart that is less than $30 and comes with a chef’s spatula, grill tongs, silicone basting brush, 4 pairs of corn holders, cleaning brush and extra brush head! Happy Grilling!
2. A Full Body Massage
I know this sounds so random to give your dad a massage for Father’s Day but I’m telling you guys I’ve never seen my dad more jealous in his life than when I gave my mom a massage for Mother’s Day. He started talking about how sore his back was from weight lifting and blah blah. Yep, dads need a little pampering too! Here in San Diego Massage Envy has a great Father’s Day deal you can read more about here.
3. Lululemon Metal Vent Shirt
I bought my dad this exact Lululemon shirt for Christmas last year and every time I’ve seen him since he’s been wearing it. What I love about Lululemon is that it’s very functional to workout in and is stylish enough to wear out and about. Their men’s line is amazing and I always love to buy the important men in my life something that they probably wouldn’t buy for themselves.
4. A Growler From His Favorite Brewery
Every single time we go to Stone Brewery (one of my dad’s favorite breweries) we bring his growlers to fill with our favorite beer. Believe me going to your dads favorite brewery and purchasing him a growler may just be his favorite Father’s Day gift ever. Even better, show up with the growler already filled with beer!
5. Plan A Day To Hike
Sometimes a gift doesn’t need to be something you actually purchase. My dad lives for hiking and going on adventures so for him setting aside a day to go on a hike together would mean the world. This Father’s Day my whole family will be up in Seattle supporting me while I run my marathon so my dad will get to enjoy some beautiful hikes and delicious beer.
6. Craft Brew Beer Tasting Glasses
Another beer related gift but hey most dads love beer! I bought my dad this exact set of beer glasses for Christmas a few years ago. The point of this set of glasses is to drink beer from the kind of glass is was designed to be enjoyed out of. It comes with one of each: 15 1/4-ounce classic pilsner, 20-ounce English pub glass, 16 1/2-ounce Belgian ale glass, 20-ounce craft pub glass, 14 3/4-ounce porter-stout and 23-ounce wheat beer glass all for only $19.99…YES PLEASE.
7. Kiehl’s Father’s Day Gift Set
Kiehl’s products are incredible! I personally use Eye Alert from the men’s line every single morning to reduce eye puffiness. I really fell in love with the brand I got my boyfriend hooked on their Facial Fuel line last year. Even the dad who doesn’t seem to worry about skin care would appreciate one of Kiehl’s Father’s Day bundles full of face wash, soap, shaving cream…etc.
8. Digital Camera
I mentioned above my dad is all about getting outside and being active. He really loves going on camping trips to the mountains and just getting lost in nature discovering some of the most beautiful places in the world. Thankfully he’s great about always bringing a camera to share his adventures with us. While my dad invested in a really nice camera for himself your dad may just be starting out with photography. Samsung makes a great little digital camera for less than $200 and it’s a great place to start learning how enjoyable photography can be.
9. A New Gym Bag
Every dad could use a new gym bag. Really…probably every man could use a new gym bag considering my boyfriend, Bryce, constantly leaves dirty socks, towels, shirts…etc in his. I bought Bryce this exact gym bag and he loves it! It’s so much bigger than it looks in these pictures and I promise dad will have enough room for anything and everything he could possibly want to bring to the gym.
10. Tickets To A Game
Like #5 a Father’s Day gift does not always need to be a thing. An experience or tickets to an event can be a lot more meaningful. Here in San Diego tickets to baseball games are pretty cheap (we’re talking as low as $20….poor Padres) and guess what….there’s a game on Father’s Day. Even if dad isn’t a huge sports fan who cares? Sometimes just doing something different can be a ton of fun.
