Friday Favorites

HAPPY FRIDAY!

September has been a crazy month for me. It started with celebrating my dad’s birthday at the Ballast Point beer festival, then my friends at I went to the KAA BOO music festival in Del Mar, then I went out to the Colorado River with my family and tomorrow I have one last event…CRSSD music festival downtown San Diego.

I’m exhausted just typing all that.

With all that going on I have not had much time for blogging and you know what it’s felt great to kind of disconnect, relax and really enjoy myself. BUT after this weekend it’s back to creating content and bringing you all value in every single post.

Since I had no content for this week (oops) I wanted to do a quick, fun Friday Favorites post to talk about the things I’ve been loving lately. No surprise here…they’re all food/ drink related ha!

Enjoy!

Trader Joe’s Ginger Turmeric Tea

fridayf2

Could this tea be more perfect…ginger to help with digestion and turmeric to reduce inflammation…YES PLEASE!

I was so excited when I randomly found this at Trader Joe’s I obviously had to buy it and it has quickly become my favorite part of my nightly routine.

Just in case you’re wondering the flavor is predominantly ginger but has a delicious turmeric after taste mmmmmm. TRY IT! The combination of ginger and turmeric is so good for you especially right after dinner.

Gerolsteiner Sparkling Water

fridayf4

I’m kind of a sparkling water snob. I only drank Perrier until I discovered Gerolsteiner at the IDEA World Convention back in July. This convention had vendors like Siggi’s, Perfect Bar, Lara Bar, Arctic Zero…etc but the best thing I had was this sparkling water…sounds crazy I know.

It’s perfectly carbonated and is very crisp and refreshing. I’ve only been able to find this at Trader Joe’s so if anyone knows other places to find Gerolsteiner let me know ASAP!

Tip: Trader Joe’s sell this individually and by the case. I usually get a couple cases for the week!

Run Fast Eat Slow

fridayf1

If you watched the Olympics last month you probably know who Shalane Flanagan is. But just in case you didn’t–she’s an American marathon runner who got 6th in Rio. As a distance runner myself I was very intrigued by this cookbook and decided what the hell I’ll spend $10 and see what this books all about.

WOW. Just wow. I figured this would just be another cookbook but it exceeded my expectations on every level. I was so motivated and inspired reading the first couple of chapters which covered why eating whole anti-inflammatory foods is so important for athletic performance. It really did make me want to get my eating back in check IMMEDIATELY!

The next day I went to the store a bought a ton of ingredients to start making some of the recipes. Every since I have had the Coconut-Kale Smoothie every single day and Soba Noodle Salad With Runner’s High Peanut Sauce at least once a week.

Runners and non runners you’ll both absolutely love this cookbook- GO GET IT NOW!

White Claw Hard Seltzer

fridayf5

A 100 calorie drink that tastes good and gets you buzzed…sign me up!

White Claw is a 100 calorie spiked sparkling water with a hint of fruit that comes in 3 flavors ruby grapefruit, black cherry and lime.

What I love so much about White Claw is that it’s incredibly refreshing and doesn’t taste artificial at all. I’ve been sipping on these watching football on Sunday’s and when I was out at the Colorado River last week you bet I brought White Claw for a skinny refreshing drink that in my mind is guilt free.

Cheers!

White Claw in hand…always!

I totally agree, I am LOVING Run Fast Eat Slow and am so surprised that I do. Definitely feeling motivated to cook more! I spent this past week eating only recipes from it and am excited to get back in the kitchen this weekend to try out more.
