I’m long overdue for a Friday Favorites post and am SO EXCITED to share some of the things I’m currently obsessed with.
Obviously, they’re all mostly food related but c’mon you should all know this about me by now.
Oh and for the record non of the products mentioned in this post are sponsored. They’re simply things I love and think you will too.
Let’s get right into it!
Trader Joe’s Salad Palette With Mango
Just take a second to listen to the ingredients in this salad: mango, watermelon radish, sugar snap peas, goat cheese, spring mix and mango ginger vinaigrette…AKA heaven on earth.
It’s light, crisp, refreshing and really is the perfect summer salad.
No joke, I eat this at least twice a week and since I typically like protein with meals I like buying Trader Joe’s lemon chicken to cut up and add to this or a couple hard boiled eggs.
Try it and please let me know how much you love it.
Alaska Airlines Credit Card
This is so random but this deal is too good not to share.
I was bored on a flight a couple months ago and actually read the brochure in the seat pocket on the plane…who does that right?
Anyway, I started reading about the Alaska Airlines credit card and how just for signing up (there is a $75 fee) and spending $1,000 in the first 90 days (uhhhh like 1/2 my rent EASY) you qualify for their limited deal when you buy one ticket you get one for just the taxes and fees PLUS 30,000 bonus miles. Then after that each year you get a “companion fare” where you can fly anywhere Alaska/Virgin America services for only $99.
Let’s just say I’m already planning a trip to Hawaii in first class for dirt cheap.
Find out more about the card HERE.
I love to snack on crunchy things like crackers, chips, popcorn…etc but obviously those aren’t the healthiest things in the world.
In an attempt to find a healthier option I discovered Trader Joe’s beet chips which are oddly incredibly addicting/satisfying.
They have this delicious earthy and salty taste with the perfect crunch PLUS the entire bag is only 140 calories with 1 ingredient: beets.
We all remember this post about the health benefits of beets right? SNACK ON!
Body Love by Kelly LeVeque
I first heard about Kelly LeVeque on The Skinny Confidential Him & Her podcast and absolutely fell in love with her food philosophy.
Kelly believes we should eat what she calls the Fab Four (greens, protein, fat and fiber) at every meal. She explains how when your body is getting these proper nutrients hunger hormones actually get shut off so you can go hours between meals without experiencing blood sugar crashes leading to unhealthy snacks or poor meal choices.
Let me tell you all she’s not lying that these meals fill you up!
I’ve been drinking one of her Fab Four smoothies every morning and have been able to go from roughly 7:00 am- 12:00 pm without even thinking about food. In fact, I almost have to force myself to eat at noon because I wasn’t hungry. Talk about freedom from obsessive behaviors around food.
Some of my favorite recipes:
- apple and almond butter smoothie from Body Love
- avocado bean salad (fake egg salad)
- buffalo chili (I use grass fed beef and add 1 can black beans)
- al pastor bowl (I sub pineapple for mango and just use the frozen chunks from Trader Joe’s…thawed obviously)
Cookie Butter Cheesecake Bites
I know, I know, I know these aren’t healthy but sometimes you have to live a little.
I’ve been LOVING having one of these Cookie Butter Cheesecake Bites after dinner. Not only are they insanely delicious but I love that the box comes with 12 bites that are already portioned for your snacking pleasure.
At only 90 calories per bite these have been my go-to dessert and I promise even 1 bite is satisfying since these are so rich and delicious.
Find them at Trader Joe’s!
