Bikini Body Guide, Fitness, My Weekly Workouts

Let me first say posting these progress pictures online is a lot harder than it may seem. It’s very personal to share your body but I truly hope that I can inspire someone to get up and get active and better their health.

Now for the celebration….

I did it!! Weeks 1-4 of Kayla Itsines’s Bikini Body Guide aka BBG are officially completed and I could not be more excited about the results I’m already seeing. I don’t notice much of a change in my arms or legs but WOW my stomach. I’m so pleased seeing that lower belly pooch shrink away little by little.

What I’m most proud of myself for is not just that I kind of have abs now but how much stronger I feel. It’s incredible not only seeing results but really feeling them as well. In weeks 1 and 2 I really struggled through the moves but redoing the same circuits in weeks 3-4 was so motivating. I felt so much stronger and was able to really push myself to levels I never even knew were achievable.

weekly workouts

This edition of weekly workouts is going to be more of a Thanksgiving weekend recap since my family is freakishly active over the holidays. We’ve never been that family who wakes up late, stays in our PJ’s until 1:00 pm watching tv then goes to see a movie then out to dinner…nope. It’s more like wake up at 8:00 am to go get lost hiking in the mountains while it hails on you. I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Last weeks workout recap:

Monday- BBG full body workout. I loved how weeks 1 and 3 are the same. I felt so much stronger in week 3 and learned a couple tricks to make the workouts more efficient. For example, use the medicine ball you use for the squat and press to hold down your legs during sit ups…it makes a world of difference.

Another week in the books! And lets just say this week in workouts was a struggle. I am always so motivated in the beginning of the week then just completely lose track of my goals. Maybe I need to book a vacation so I can really stay motivated to get into great shape? Thailand? Bali? Anyone?

Weekly Workout Recap:

BBG week 2 is hell. I can’t describe it in any other way. I started Monday with the arms and abs workout OMG 4 mountain climbers and 1 push up 15 times may be the absolute death of me. Tuesday and Wednesday were wonderful as my stretch days at yoga then Thursday it went downhill. I completely failed waking up early to workout Thursday and had a Stella and Dot jewelry party after work…it took even ounce of motivation to drag myself to the gym at 9pm for Kayla’s leg day. Fast forward to Friday morning…jumped out of bed and WOW I could barley walk my legs were so sore. I almost skipped the BBG total body workout but struggled through it. Saturday was more yoga and Sunday was a gorgeous 8 mile “LISS” run at Penasquitos Canyon.

Bikini Body Guide, Fitness, My Weekly Workouts

I really think posting  my Weekly Workout schedule last week helped hold me accountable to actually doing the workouts. I was feeling so unmotivated some nights but knew I had posted it and had to stick to it especially with the holiday season approaching.

Last Weeks Recap:

Let me just start this post by saying these BBG workouts are so much harder than I expected. Before I actually decided to do the BBG correctly I would just do the moves in the circuit once but actually pushing myself to do them as many times as possible in 7 minutes- GAME CHANGER!

I consider myself to be in pretty good shape but I wanted to throw up after doing one 7 minute circuit. WOW! My whole body was shaking at the end of the 28 minutes. I see how all these women have the most incredible results at the end of this 12  week program. Consider me pretty darn motivated!

Another random BBG thought! It would be so amazing if local gyms had classes where instructors could lead BBG circuits. Working out alone is so hard for me but in group fitness environments my competitive side comes out and I tend to push myself a lot harder.

The week overall went great and I stuck exactly to the schedule I made for myself. Wednesday’s hike turned out to be a very challenging, FREEZING, 6 mile trail straight up Volcan Mountain up in Julian…so much for LISS (LOW INTENSITY) cardio haha! I am SO ready to give week 2 of BBG 110%!
