Vancouver Travel Guide

I’ve always wanted to visit Vancouver so when I scored a spot in the SeaWheeze Half Marathon I was thrilled to finally have the perfect reason to head North.

Vancouver truly is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to. It sounds kind of cheesy but the city is just magical – there’s something so special about being able to go from the busy city to the top of a mountain in 30 minutes.

Unfortunately, while we were in Vancouver there were terrible wildfires burning in the Pacific Northwest/Canada so there was so much smoke in the air that obstructed a lot of our views for the first few days. Thankfully, by the end of our trip the smoke had cleared and we got to see the true beauty Vancouver had to offer.

5 Tips For Staying Healthy While Traveling

Hi from Minnesota!

I’ve been out in the Minneapolis area for the past week for work and you guys…I’m pretty freakin’ impressed with how healthy I’ve been able to be. 

Normally when I travel I use it as an excuse to eat whatever I want and skip workouts but for this trip I really wanted to do my best to not completely fall off the rails. It hasn’t been easy- but sitting here not feeling like I gained 9837934 pounds has made it all worth it!

So for a quick post before heading home to San Diego tonight I just wanted to share a few tips for staying healthy while traveling. 

 

1. Take advantage of “first class free” or “first week free” promotions  at local gyms/ studios

I pay a ton of money for my yoga membership back home in San Diego so the last thing I want to do while traveling is pay more money just to work out. Noooope. For this trip to Minnesota I took advantage of the fact that Organgetheory Fitness is a franchise and got a free class and also scored a free class at Pure Barre! Not only did I save a ton of money but I also got to do some workouts I don’t normally do while I’m home in San Diego…win/win!

Eating My Way Through Portland

Hey, hey, hey!

I just got home from a work trip to Portland and am already craving an almond milk latte from Barista and drunken wings from Bang Bang mmmmmmmm.

Before this trip to Portland I had only been to the city once and was really only there for 24 hours so this was my first full on Portland foodie experience and you guys…it didn’t disappoint.

But since I’m honestly falling asleep trying to watch this NBA playoff game and catch up on emails I just wanted to give you all a quick little recap of all the awesome places I ate this weekend.

Weekly Workouts + San Francisco Trip Recap

Sorry this post is a day late but I was just too dead from my trip to San Francisco to write anything yesterday.

Speaking of my trip…it was AMAZING! We flew in early Friday morning and immediately headed to Blackwood for brunch and bottomless mimosas. If any of you ever go to San Francisco you HAVE TO try Blackwood’s “Millionaire’s Bacon”…it will change your life. The rest of the day was spent sipping on drinks and soaking up some sunshine.

On Saturday we headed up to Napa which is about an hour outside of the city for some wine tasting. To say we went all out for this wine tasting would be an understatement. We rented a limo, stayed at an AirBnB, got all dressed up and made it to 4 wineries! Our day ended with us climbing the Napa sign for a picture so I’ll let you all just use your imagination how the day went HA!
